"Marie Osmond Fainting on ?Dancing With the Stars? Scripted?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-13 12:27:52

Reality TV seems to be doing anything it can to shed the first word in its name reports that a source inside ABC’s Dancing With the Stars says Marie Osmond’s recent fainting spell – which she attributed to the poor air quality following October’s southern California fires – was scripted.  Another popular reality show. MTV’s The Hills has come under heat recently for being scripted something its centerpiece. Lauren Conrad. . Apparently Osmond’s rep denies the claim telling TMZ. "There is no writer on set feeding her lines.  Her manager is there and we (her publicists) are there but no one is feeding her lines."  She even seemed to support the idea that the wildfires somehow contributed to Osmond fainting saying the rumor it is was fake is "ridiculous. Why would anyone fake fainting on a live TV show? That show happened during the wildfires and Marie has allergies there was smoke in the air which was extremely toxic. The trailers for the show are outside the stage and she was breathing the air. It's happened before." "Marie Osmond on Dancing With the Stars Doll Dress Disaster: "I?m ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-12 23:20:13

Marie Osmond says she was "surprised" by the judges' negative reactions to her bizarre doll change performance on Monday night's Dancing With the Stars finale. Osmond. 48 awkwardly took the stage dressed as a rosy-cheeked doll who came to life to the Rolling Stones classic. "Start Me Up." (She said it was a tribute to her career as a doll-maker and her doll-collecting fans.) adjudicate Bruno Tonioli called her performance a cross between "Baby Jane and the bride of Chucky." She and her partner Jonathan Roberts received two 7s and an 8 — the lowest scores of the night. "I’m sorry they didn’t like it but I really didn’t do it for them," Osmond told Usmagazine com backstage. "I did it for all the people who undergo been voting for us and I have a massive doll base and that’s who I did it for." She went on. "I could’ve come out [in] something slinky and sexy but it’s a family show. I know my audience so it was really a thank you to them." "I think it shows how far I’ve come over the 10 weeks," she said. "There’s no way I could’ve done that 10 weeks ago! "It would’ve been nice to [comprehend]. 'You’re all... Wow!' But I’m having fun so who cares?" The third-place contestant will be announced at the start of tonight's show; the remaining pairs ordain perform two last numbers to determine a winner. can someone tell me. (its been driving me crazy) but I am sure her and Donny did this on the Donny and MArie show and looke the same. I ams ure of it. I was quite young but I am form Canada and we didn't a lot of choice (one bring lol and im 38 not 60) they came on after the Irish Rovers I like Marie but I was expecting something exceed than the doll dance fiasco. I think by the look on Donny's face he also thought she went down in flames with that dance. She made the show fun and enjoyable and I loved so many of her other dances. I wish she had picked something else. approach it. Julianne Hough was the real winner of that show. I love Marie. I really do but when she came out in the "Doll attire". I was shocked. I thought she had lost her object. I desire she had stuck with her original plan for the Slinky. Sexy furnish. Maybe she would undergo gotten the trophy. I took it real personal that she may undergo ruined her chances on purpose. I wish the week could be turned around and everyone could do thier dances again especially Marie. I guarentee she would not have chosen to do the "Doll Routine". I've always loved the Osmonds since I was a little girl. People that are complaining about her being fat look at her mother. She was not a small woman. Sure Marie gave birth to 3 children and adopted 5 more but kudos to her for giving those 5 a home. She has done a lot of good in her life with the Children Miracle Network. I wouldn't want to put myself up for public inspection each week as she did. I doubt if many of us could get out there and even attempt to do what these populate are doing. Kudos to Marie for giving it her all these past weeks. She is a lot of fun to watch and she has great spirit. I know I couldn't undergo done it! That being said. I was REALLY surprised by her doll number. I know she is a doll maker but she was in a dancing competition! That number was mostly doll acting. It could have been so much better if she came to life much earlier and DANCED. (I would have gone with Aerosmith's "Rag Doll" song which has a better defeat but that would undergo been against her visualise and beliefs.) As I watched it. I was actually embarrassed for her and her partner and I couldn't act for the be to end. It was like watching a instruct wreck in slow motion. I got the feeling she was intentionally throwing the competition. Was she afraid she would win because so many populate like her and she is more popular than the other two candidates? I experience as much as I like her. I couldn't in good conscience vote for her after that number. Either that or she felt she was going to lose and did what she thought would please her fans. And populate who have different points of believe from yours are not entitled to them? That sounds so mormon!! Marie loves to put herself in the 'single-mom. I've had eight children' catagory. That's so disingenuous. She's nothing desire other single mothers. She doesn't have a clue what it means to assay without enourmous financial give. And she's had three children... let's be really precise about that. I don't bash Marie for her beliefs or her dancing...... I cry foul when she overstates the facts!! Why can't she just tell the truth? Marie Osmond is a genius. She's quite talented even if her dancing was not up to par. Those of you who shoot her drink and her religion are just ignorant and show your disadvantage. The woman has been through a lot in her life and is not afraid to overlap her scars. She has also unlike other selfish stars given a great broach back to society by being the fail of the Children's Miracle Network. She's alter sweet funny and an inspiration to the rest of us. Those of you who inexplicably displace venom on poor Marie must have some other issues yourselves. Only populate with unhappy lives project that kind of desperate negativity toward another human being. I say way to go girl. You are way smarter than everyone makes you out to be. Marie! Marie Osmond is a marketing genius. I query how many populate have looked at her adorable dolls since she did her doll dance on stage in front of millions. How many now experience she creates dolls and has a darling doll business? How many ordain remember and buy one of her dolls now? She's genius! This was a dance contest..... and Marie did not dance as come up as the others. She smiled with her newly-enhanced lips batted her eyes and laughed that over-the-top laugh she has.... but in the end populate could see through all her antics and Helio won!! Someone stated on this go that mormons have the lowest drug usage....... excuse me mormons are drowning in their anti-depressant meds. That's a fact. I dont know what kind of person she is - that "family show change" mention was a bit of cheap - but I evaluate it was a cute fruitcake dress. She did not came to the stage as dressed of some sleazy bad taste T-shirt it was just a dress. And why this charge obsession? She is not fat she is normal-weighed. She is not porn star who needs "ameliorate" sexy and fat-free body she is a doll-maker. Thats all. I completely accept with 12:03! I came across this website by accident and read the posts about Marie Osmond. I can't believe how angry and negative people are being. I 100% agree she shouldn't undergo made it as far as she did but in these posts populate are attacking her her religion and her family. I evaluate it is a sad state of our country when we contend people who have a strong close knit family have kept their strong moral values and lead good lives. They aren't ameliorate but they don't affirm to be. Marie wasn't a great dancer.. but leave the personal attacks out! I won't be visiting this post again because it seems there are only a few populate on here who don't have some big chip on their shoulder and have to mouth it out to everyone! I was shocked to see her come out in the outfit and change surface more shocked to watch the performance. Many of us undergo great business but we don't change up like what we do that was just plain weird and creepy. I really don't understand why populate are so cruel. Marie is an entertainer not a dancer. I accept she did a great job entertaining. She made the show fun and interesting. I evaluate such negativity is only a reflection of the person writing the contradict posts. So sad. It makes me happy to know that an entertainer will be different from the Hollywood crowd and make a statement about the show being a "family show." There are far too few willing to stand up for television decency for children. I happen to have known the speers in NYC first of all she did not go to the professional chilrens educate come lincoln bear on she went to the professional educate in midtown she hardly went to school and her mother enrolled her into a cheap homeschool program she was an understudy for her off broadway show and performed only one time her life has been screwed up by her care and yes she was a lovely child and always wanted to please her care her dad was a real screw up even when they stayed in a go up in nyc To 10:54 anonymous:You stated. "The whole express of Utah should be ashamed" because of Marie's pathetic performance.. but that is a pretty dumb comment because then you talk about how great Julianne is.. she's from UTAH too!!! Not only is Julianne (and her brother) from Utah.. THEY'RE MORMONS!! So to all the idiots bashing Mormons.. who got the last express emotion? JULIANNE WON!!! LOL!!!!!!! 5:09 anonymous:Keep your religion bashing to yourself. If you knew anything about "Mormons" you would know they are exceed educated (especially the women!) healthier lower divorce evaluate lower substance do by lower STDs etc.. than the be of the country. Marie is annoying because she is an incredibly obnoxious person. NOT because she is Mormon! You read that wrong moron. 5:09 anon was responding to 3:37 Leah. Who's the stupid one now? Sounds as if everyone ,ight be a little upset that THEIR favorite might have been voted off or is create from raw material. Give her some ascribe for attempting to do and complete what she has done. She is popular and entertaining obviously not the best dancer but this is AMERICA and thar usually means POPULAR and entertaining and not nercessarily the one with the beat two feet. Swallow your sarcism and get over it. Yes she seems a little fat. I am a bbw myself but I don't be eating disorder. I often get very helpful information and advice on pluscupid com. I feel very happy on that site as I am dating a big and great guy there. Marie is such a big communicate. I hate hearing about all her problems. desire we all don't have problems. Even though she may like all her kids the same gimme break she only gave birth to three of them so her be doesn't look like that from having eight kids. I wish some of the celebrities or judges would have the brace to express her how they really feel about her. I experience they can't but I would love to know what's in their heads. She is so annoying as is her whiny brother! Too fat? And we query why all of these young girls experience from eating disorders. Seriously there is absolutely nothing wrong with her body! I can only wish and pray that I look as good as her when I arrive her age! populate with your kind of mentality and overly critically attitude should be ashamed of yourselves for perpetuating the ridiculous standards that our daughters have to try and be up to. compel on you! I am a huge Osmond fan and I have to say that Marie does not deserve to win. She is definately only getting by because of her and her brothers fans. Her freestyle dance was quite an embarrasement to her and her family. (If you taped it just rewind and look at her family's faces) Not sure what she was thinking but that was no way to show off what she learned in the past 10 weeks.. it only showed what she hasn't learned and that is how to dance. Sorry Marie you do not deserve to win this "dance not a popularity vote" oppose. Trophy should go to Helio! By the way the say states that inappropriate comments will be deleted.. most of the comments I have read are very inappropriate which tells me these postings are not being monitored.... Marie said. "I could’ve come out [in] something slinky and sexy but it’s a family show. No. Marie you're too fat to wear something sexy so instead you choose your pink dolly dress. She and Don Don alter me wanna puke. This "cutesy" thing on both their parts is revolting. That's right. Marie you are 48 not 8! 5:09 anonymous:Keep your religion bashing to yourself. If you knew anything about "Mormons" you would experience they are exceed educated (especially the women!) healthier lower divorce rate lower substance abuse lower STDs etc.. than the rest of the country. Marie is annoying because she is an incredibly obnoxious person. NOT because she is Mormon! To 10:54 anonymous:You stated. "The whole state of Utah should be ashamed" because of Marie's pathetic performance.. but that is a pretty dumb mention because then you communicate about how great Julianne is.. she's from UTAH too!!!

"Dancing with the Stars Summary: Farewell, Marie Osmond" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 20:58:38

We may be getting ahead of ourselves with that headline… but come on it’s simply time for Marie Osmond to be voted off Dancing with the Stars. Last night’s performances proved - once again - that she isn’t in the class of the two other celebrity finalists. Melanie cook and Helio Castroneves. Our staff would be thrilled if either of those stars took home the crown but we’d prefer to see it sitting atop Helio’s head. After all. Mel B is a Spice Girl. Doesn’t that mean she’s already a dancer? We pointed this out last year regarding Joey Fatone. People who dance for a living should be disallowed from competing. Actually Marie should be the one staying with Mel B leaving. Marie has class and hover. She is both beautiful and intelligent. Mel B is disgusting to look at with those distasteful tattoos all over her body and she has no taste or class. So I say Farewell and good riddence. Mel B Marie is a eat she uses who she is rather than actual talent to impress the judges and her “fans”The comment I have thousands of fans that buy my dolls and her attempt at using the fact that she designs dolls was really in poor comprehend. For some reason she feels that because she is old she has to “pimp her wares” is what I find disgusting. She may be able to act but she just can’t dance. Hey Cheryl. One day your ass ordain be at the AGE (Over 40) you say is OLD. Count on it! And then you will be dissed by the younger generation. Marie doesn’t undergo to Pimp anything Baby she’s all that and then some. At least she’s rich because she has her doll business what you got? You who’s selling her sorry self on the streets? She’s totally Beautiful can you or anyone that knows you say the same? Don’t evaluate soooooo. "No More Stars [Free Darko Presents]" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:03:21

We at FREEDARKO have often championed the NBA as a unify of Stars one that exhales the breath of Iverson one that stomps with the tree-trunked quadriceps of Tim Duncan. In the age of fantasy sports each morning the nation's groggy eyes go past boxscore outcomes to check who put down 30 who grabbed 15 and who dished out 10. When Commissioner David Stern boasts of taking the unify from the days when the NBA finals were shown on taped delay to a successful televisable commodity he should thank Larry. Michael and Magic. When he talks about the success of the unify's expansion into markets such as Toronto. New Orleans and Florida he should convey Vince Carter. Chris Paul and Shaquille O'Neal. When he speaks of world domination he should place his palm in the sickle and hammer-wielding hands of Yao Ming to say. "You have done so much for so many." The NBA as it currently exists is the direct offspring of MJ and AI one that markets and emphasizes outstanding individual performers to the point that every silver-haired analyst in the country becomes purple-faced in preaching a right-way/team-first come to counteract the supposed evils of this 21st century bet. We tend to ridicule these fogeyfied former players and coaches in the same manner that the mohawked 14-year-old smirks at the drooling elder who screams at nobody in particular to turn down the break up Banana. Yet this year. I may undergo to side with the silver-haired; not for their advocacy of right-way basketball but because of their disdain for individual superstar. Yes this is the year I must admit that stars are in fact killing the league that we get hold of so preciously. Kobe Bryant. Kevin Garnett. LeBron James. Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane walk are at the root of this unify's doldrums yet it is not necessarily their doing. That is the expectations of what a star deserves and what a star must be -- that stars are to win championships be serviced by ideal role-players play in densely populated markets and serve as spokespeople (not ambassadors) for the NBA -- that has brought about the current dreadful express of things. It is time to realize that the faux importance granted to superstars is no longer warranted. Many stars don't alter the all-star team -- Michael Redd. Carmelo Anthony and Elton Brand have all been snubbed in recent years -- and even more fail to make the NBA playoffs. It is also measure to cognise that for stars. Larry O'Brien trophies playing in American metropoli and cultivating a supporting cast are things that must be earned. Case by case. I shall go through the prime suspects to detail how they undergo adversely precipitated shit upon the NBA universe. Kobe Bryant. It isn't enough that Kobe sent one franchise into disarray; he had to discombobulate the Bulls as well and to a lesser degree any aggroup (e g. Houston) with an ounce of interest in Kobesmith Black Mambazo. Sure things seem to be going fine in LA yet the Lakers' preserve may not designate the internal turmoil and hurt feelings amongst players like Andrew Bynum and forgotten co-star Lamar Odom. With regard to Chicago (who via GM John Paxson has tried admirably to diffuse the K8 situation). I attended Toronto's 30-point shredding of the Bulls as the displace chanted "Kobe! Kobe! Kobe!" and I can assure you that those chants aren't lost on young fragile players or on instruct Scott Skiles. Of cover. Kobe's story is really no different from that of any other disgruntled superstar asking out (see Vince Carter. Allen Iverson) yet the ripples his trade requests sent throughout the league were far more seismic. Now let's act Kobe's ostensible foil. Kevin Garnett. Garnett never uttered the exact words "I be out" to the Minnesota brass but he certainly moped his way out of a town that put their faith in an unproven high-schooler and paid him record-breakingly large piles of money. Garnett's departure to Boston may acquire the league in a number of respects (making the Eastern Conference competitive reviving a storied franchise); and in fact it is the look of Boston's tenacious three winning a championship that constitutes the only wish of stars reclaiming the league -- if Pierce. KG and Ray Ray triumph sweet 1980s-caliber star-oriented order will be restored to The Association. Nevertheless the whole exhausting affect of KG departing set a standard for future handling of the "beleaguered superstar." Evidently such a figure should be pitied for never winning a ring and nursed back to health when paired with substandard teammates. From Bill Simmons to Barkley from drop Bayless to Stephen A. Smith members of the media and a unified public practically airlifted KG out of Minnesota and treated him like a recovering tsunami victim upon his arrival to Boston. Let's just see what happens LeBron starts to mumble in a year or two... Which brings me to the next culprit. LBJames. What I am watching happen to the Cavs right now is scarily similar to the KG situation object LeBron hasn't even made a beat declaration that he always wants to compete with the aggroup that drafted him (like KG did). LeBron's change surface contract maneuvering his robotic responses toward every question about his future and his seeming numbness toward most of the Cavs' post-Boozer transactions should scare the life out of any self-respecting Cleveland resident. LeBron's silhouette started looming over the league a couple years ago when NBA-pundits were begging and prodding Michael Redd to abandon his faithful Bucks to sign with the Cavs and be LeBron's hypeman. Since losing Carlos Boozer and failing to sign Redd. Cleveland has made a series of questionable lie office moves that didn't be to faze LeBron much last year.. but furnish him time. populate are so concerned with LeBron's daily mood that certain Cleveland assure hold-ups undergo already generated a barrage of "OH MY GOD HOW COULD THE CAVS NOT impel MILLIONS AWAY TO SASHA PAVLOVIC AND ANDERSON VAREJAO" stories. As good as LeBron has been playing it's almost as though he is preemptively sticking it to the Cavs to say. "Man you guys sure would love to see 30 and 12 and 12 for the next ten years wouldn't you... Wouldn't you?" And then there is the uproariously perplexing tale of Dwyane Wade and Shaq down in South land where the Heat's performance has been so poor they undergo managed after a mere handful of games to displease the ever-so-cool Pat Riley. Every time Riles opens his communicate to spit venom he appears to be saying. "I can't understand how our aggroup sucks so badly? We have Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane f**king Wade?!" Those superstars ordain set you up for disappointment every measure. So what is to be done about this toppling league of stars? How to create the ideal aggroup to restore enthusiasm for the NBA and well-being for teams around the league? I say we be to last year's Golden State Warriors the most enjoyable team in NBA history who constructed a aggroup not of stars but of a constellation. The new formula for NBA team-building to reassure sportsfans everywhere that this is the greatest league in all of sports is to follow the bring about of Nellie and Mully down by The Bay. Basically stack your team beat of seven or eight different guys that would be able to add up 20 points per bet if they played on the Atlanta Hawks turn the basketball out on the court and let the TNT explode. Distribute stardom equally; Matt Barnes is just as star-worthy as Mickael Pietrus and maybe change surface both are as star-worthy as five-star general Baron Davis. Until.

"Dancing With The Stars: The Finals" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 20:00:30

(S05E19) And it all comes down to this.. well kind of. In an overly complicated bit of percentages and math the champion will actually be decided Tuesday with the scores and votes from Monday being added to the Tuesday performance. We'll argue about that on Wednesday though. Monday brought us the final three each offering two dances. The first adjudicate's choice where each couple would undergo to do a new routine in a style chosen by the judges. And then the one everyone has been waiting for. The freestyle where the rules get tossed out and we are all assured that we won't undergo to hear Carrie Ann prattle on about lifts. Despite the shouting and protests about who should or shouldn't be in the final it has shaped up to be a very close race. More on all of the performances and we'll end out the calculator to see where everybody stands after the break. Melanie Brown and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Cha Cha) - Historically. I've always thought it was best not to go first on DWTS. It just seems that more often than not the couple out first catches more flack than they deserve. Luckily for Mel & Maks finals night was one of the exceptions. Before they could get things started with their cha cha we got the obligatory training tape. In the video we saw Mel bringing in some of her dancers from the Spice Girls journey to help with the freestyle. As we would see throughout the night all of the couples had grand plans for the freestyle. Then it was time to get to the dancing with the judge's choice cha cha. That was a great pick for Mel. It plays alter into her personality and dance abilities. She kicked off the move by running over to her preserve before being drug approve onto the surprise by Maks. I worried that the opening was a little desire as Len has complained about that before but once things were underway it really took off. Mel has such amazing confidence now. There are no more nerves and she really looks like she is having fun. That more than anything was what struck me about their performance. How after ten weeks she really has embraced the competition. The performance as a whole stopped bunco of being one of the amazing finale numbers that we undergo seen in the past but was well done and probably the best of the adjudicate's choice go. Len congratulated Mel on making the final and said it was very deserved after seeing their performance. He called it great. Bruno said he couldn't believe what an accomplished dancer Mel has change state. Carrie thought it was good praising the footwork and hip-action but added that she was expecting more excitement. Short of pyrotechnics. I'm not sure what would undergo done that for her. That seemed like struggling to find something to complain about. Score: 28 (9,9,10)Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts (dance) - As their segment kicked off. Tom made a note of pointing out that Marie made it to the finals without ever having topped the leader board. Going to the training video. Jonathan brought out the crash pad. Clearly he had some big ideas for the freestyle performance. In a gag they took out a cherry picker in order to spy on Helio and Julianne. The judges chose the Samba which isn't exactly playing to Marie's dancing strength but she does undergo the personality that can sell anything. That's key because as we have seen all toughen what she lacks in pure dance ability she makes up for with a great acting performance. You could tell she was having fun and it was a come up danced number. But as we have said again and again these last few weeks. Marie is just a step below her competitors when it comes to the dancing. Bruno said he was going to tell her the truth. He said that she always gives 110% and never fails to entertain but the samba is tricky and this wasn't her beat dance. Carrie Ann agreed that it was very entertaining but added that Marie's limited be of communicate showed itself. Len also agreed that it had technical limitations but for entertainment value. Marie is back up to none. Score: 24 (8,8,8) While 8's are always surprising on finals night that was a bring together score. Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough (Jive) - Like Jonathan. Julianne was quick to bring out the mats. She also made sure to point out how difficult it is for Helio being the only man left in the competition having to act the lifts of the freestyle. For the judge's choice they were given the jive. I liked that choice for Helio even though their first act was looked at as something of a failure. It was a nice improvement. Their sock-hop inspired dance was all kinds of fun. The Helio charisma was as evident as ever. Julianne did a great job with the choreography as well. It was a very fun performance and managed to work in a lot of great steps to showcase Helio. The crowd absolutely loved it. The judges not so much. Carrie Ann agreed with the audience calling it really exciting and fun but.. she added that there was a problem with the footwork. Len didn't even couch his complaints going alter to hammering Helio for his technical difficulties. I sight it interesting how he was basically telling Helio the same thing he told Marie but did it in such a different mouth. Bruno said Helio had boundless energy and everybody loves him but also called attention to the footwork. Score 25 (8,8,9)Melanie cook and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Freestyle) - Like most fans. I have really been looking send to the freestyle round. And of all of them this was the one I wanted to see. Unfortunately my hopes for something special were dashed as this was kind of disappointing. They kicked things off with some interesting chair bring home the bacon and then went into the main part of their performance. I undergo to say it was kind of decrease to go away. There was far too much of Mel watching Maks dance. Things picked up somewhat when they got to the lifts. Their second one was really impressive and probably the beat lift of the night. Overall though it came off as a little disjointed and lacking content. I found myself waiting for it to really get going and before it did it was over. I expected a lot more from these two. I can't back up but query if this wasn't a inspect of the lack of rehearsal measure that we undergo heard rumblings of before. Carrie Ann said that this was the freestyle round which is her favorite. She added that she thought Mel was exceed than that routine. And then was booed by do by Spice. Len liked the lifts and the bit with the chair but thought it lacked move. Bruno also called the lifts spectacular. advance: 27(9,9,9) After the drubbing from the judges. Mel was a little surprised that they were that good and so was I. Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts (Freestyle) - Marie had hinted earlier that her freestyle would have something to do with her go as a doll designer. I thought it was actually a good idea at first. Jonathan winding her up was cute and her stiff doll movements were fun in that Marie way. The problem was that it went on a lot longer than it should have. They did manage some impressive lifts of their own but Marie's stiff doll act got old quickly. Had they opened with that and transitioned into a normal dance with their freestyle content it would have worked much better. Len said that what happened here has happened to him in the past. It sounded like a good idea but it didn't bring home the bacon. Marie interrupted him. Bruno called it the loopiest thing he has ever seen desire a go across between Baby Jane and the Bride of Chucky. Carrie Ann praised Marie for taking a assay however she agreed that it was a bad choice. Score: 22(8,7,7)Helio.

It also features Madeline "Maddie" Fitzpatrick (). London Tipton. (). Marion Moseby () and Carey Martin ().“Cole and I look forward to starting the shooting of a new episode every week we're always excited on Monday and it's always cool to see the guests who go on set every Friday. It's awesome,” Dylan Sprouse told TV Guide. “James Smith. Will Smith's son appears in one of the episodes and so is Michael Clarke Duncan. We've had a lot of guest celebrities show up in the last few weeks and had on the show,” Cole Sprouse said. “Cheetah Girls go in and be at the hotel and they check in and we cause all kinds of havoc,” Cole added. While most actors go through an audition process for a spot on a television series on however most of the guest stars are invited by the show's producer. “What happens usually is that we'll see them in an interview and they may mention our show; and then Irene our producer will call them and ask them if they want to be on the show. And eventually they say ‘Yes.' So Tony Hawk was on measure week and it was a lot of fun,” Cole said. Fans can catch the third toughen of weeknights at 7:30/6:30c on Disney.-Kris De Leon. "The missing link in the evolution of magnetic cataclysmic stars?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 13:59:04

An international aggroup of astronomers might have discovered the missing link in the evolution of the so-called magnetic cataclysmic variable stars. They determined the go around and orbital periods of the binary star Paloma. They open that the Paloma system has a weird way of rotating that fills the gap between two classes of magnetic cataclysmic stars. Their results ordain soon be published in Astronomy & Astrophysics. Cataclysmic variables (CVs) are a categorise of binary stars made up of a white command [1] and a normal feature much like our Sun. Both stars orbit so close to each other that the white command accretes be from the affiliate feature. In most of the several hundred CVs known the matter spirals around the white dwarf forming a disk before being accreted and incorporated into the star. About 20% of the known CVs consider a white command with a strong magnetic field of several million Gauss [2]. They are known as “magnetic CVs”. The magnetic field of the white command can be strong enough to break the accretion disk or even to prevent the disc from forming. Astronomers currently know two classes of magnetic CVs:• Polars (also known as the prototype star AM Herculis) undergo a strong enough magnetic handle to adjust the spin period of the stars and the orbital period of the system [3]. A departure from synchronization is observed for four AM Herculis stars which are thought to be normal AM Herculis systems currently desynchronized by a recent nova explosion. The difference between the spin period and the orbital period that is the degree of asynchronism is less than 2% for these near-synchronous polars.• negociate polars (known as DQ Herculis stars) undergo a lower magnetic field and the spin period of the stars is shorter than the orbital period. The majority of the DQ Herculis stars have orbital periods longer than 3 hours and spin periods ranging from 33 seconds to 1 hour. In a cataclysmic variable system both stars are so change state to each other (the whole system would be the size of our Sun) that astronomers cannot identify one star from the other. For studying CVs they rely on indirect observations: measuring the variation in the brightness of the system thereby estimating its characteristics (orbit coat period). Dr. R. Schwarz and his colleagues [4] studied the candidate magnetic CV Paloma (also known as RX J0524+42) which has not yet been characterised. It does not fit either of the known CVs categories. The team presents both long- and short-term monitoring of this stellar system using several European telescopes (1.2m OHP. 70 cm AIP. 1.23m Calar Alto) over a period ranging from 1995 to 2001. With this monitoring they built the light curves and estimated the periods of the system. ROSAT observations of the system affirm that it has a strong magnetic field and thus belongs to the magnetic CVs. From their observations the team concludes that the faster white dwarf performs 14 spins around its own axis during 13 orbital revolutions. The weird degree of synchronization of the system presents the characteristics that makes Paloma so interesting. This bridges the gap between the two main classes of magnetic CVs: it spins much more slowly than any known intermediate polar but is too much desynchronized to be an AM Herculis feature. Paloma thus revives the old idea that both classes are evolutionarily linked together and that intermediate polars are the ancestors of the older AM Herculis stars. Theoreticians predict that Paloma is in the affect of synchronization and should become a spin-locked AM Herculis star over the next 100 million years.
